The Posada Tradition:
Welcome! All the world’s great religions recognize hospitality for the stranger as a sign of mature faith. La Posada is a re-enactment of the Bible story of Mary and Joseph who, while sojourners in Bethlehem, were forced to seek shelter on the night of Jesus’ birth. It is a venerated Christmas tradition across the Americas. In our time, with such a hostile climate towards migrants, we believe it is possible to promote a culture of reconciliation and solidarity. At the 24th annual La Posada Without Borders, we join with our friends from Tijuana as brothers and sisters in one human family. All are welcome.
